August Review + XP Cash-In

 

Five months down!

Remember, we're not here to beat ourselves up over our failures, but to celebrate our successes! With that in mind, please leave a comment on this post letting us know which August goals you accomplished, and also go back through the month and count up your longest consecutive run of substantial check-ins you had in a row (remember, "I did nothing"s don't count! a check-in should include at least one thing that you did that was positive that day). Round down to the nearest number of consecutive weeks you checked in, and then leave that number in bold at the bottom of your comment to earn your XP! Please also indicate how you would like that XP to be divvied up among characters.  

NOTE: Apparently I totally forgot to dole out XP last month so I will be doing both at the same time!  Sorry for my failure.

So I got all of my offline goals done ...

Offline stuff:
✔ Get sleep schedule back on track for more than a day at a time (in bed between 9 and 10 so I can wake up by 5 or so).
✔ Make more social plans with friends I don't see as often.
✔ Continue job search, because after November, I won't have one (political campaign work: so damn fun, so damn temporary).
✔ Start and/or finish shows I'm still slowly catching up on -- right now that's American Horror Story (no I don't freaking know why I'm watching this, either; tbh I'm judging myself) and I still have to start last season of The Originals. There might be a couple of others in my queue that I've forgotten about, too?
✔ Set aside way more time for reading.

✔ Do at least 5 tags a day; clean out the inbox once a week at minimum.
whoops. I did okay with this for like the first couple weeks. ish.

✔ Try to actually canon update Daisy at [community profile] entranceway this month???? I keep putting that off.

generally yes altho i think there were some days that this didn't happen like when i didn't work for 2 weeks

+ only eat out twice a week, and only get lunch at the caf once a week

+ get furniture?? a desk or a real bed either one just a place to be that isn't on my air mattress x_x

REFLECTION
( Successes ) I switched to studying VBA over getting my A+ after reassessing my goals, and I found a really enjoyable course on Udemy that makes me want to do the work every day. Jared helped me get up before 8 every day, and going to bed early helped that too. And trying out a BlueApron subscription has made a huge difference-- we cook 3 times a week now!
( Partials ) August was a rough month for training but we did OK and only held back out of necessity rather than anything else. I ate much better than normal, despite about a day a week of stress eating, oops. I tagged at least twice almost daily but I burned out the last two weeks.
( Needs works ) I journaled all of once, haha. I think it's not for me! I'm holding off on A+ altogether, so that'll be next year maybe. I worked on strength training all of three times? Yeesh. I came nowhere near my June tag record but I did exceed July, despite losing some steam on my nongame tags. I'm definitely reassessing how I set up goals for September because I'm disappointed with all these strikethroughs!

DAILY
⟶ drink water, any amount
      ✗ i started off great and then dwindled as time went on, but i've also been less dehydrated so
⟶ eat during the day
      ✗ mostly succeeded, but there were a few days where i just forgot to eat period so :/
⟶ at least thirty minutes of yoga
      ✓ i did great the first three weeks but then i hurt my back and had to take a break.
⟶ at least ten minutes of stretching for wrist
      ✗ also did great during the start of the month when my wrist was hurting pretty bad but once it stopped hurting, i also stopped stretching it

⟶ at least ten tags a day; not including same thread boomerangs
      ✓ kicked but almost every day! there were a few days when i worked late and didn't manage all ten, but i got nirvana a bunch throughout the month so setting the small goal and achieving it repeatedly i think helped my motivations.


WEEKLY
⟶ exotic friend date with matt & todd
      ✓ SO MANY
⟶ get out of the house with emily on days off
      ✓ we did good, but then em got her new job (she's the bomb.com) and our days off do not coincide, but we still got out of the house a few times
⟶ keep bedroom cleaned & keep on top of laundry
      ✓ less on top of laundry, but it's not too bad and it's not getting out of control

⟶ keep tracking updated
      ✓ fully updated at least once a week, and i kept on top of updating when i started new threads


MONTHLY
⟶ do not spend money on clothes/frivolities
      ✗ it was at least under $20 total for the month and underwear is a basic human right

⟶ at least one bit of new cr per person
      ✓ so much new cr, i'm really proud of it.

GENERAL:
✔ Set up a to-do list every day and complete it so that I keep busy and don't waste my day.
✔ Keep up with my FR dailies every day, because you have goals there and you should try and complete them.
✔ Allow myself Puzzle Craft 2 time but don't blow (fake) money trying to overdo it and complete stuff in one day.


RP/WRITING:
✔ Keep on top of [community profile] fandomweekly challenges, both writing and voting, if it comes back, because the mod's been silent for a bit. :(
✔ Complete [community profile] getyourwordsout challenges as they happen.
✔ Complete brown belt and double black belt for GYWO Bingo.
✔ Try to complete requests when able (now standing at 16/37)
✔ Set a tag goal every day and complete it. Minimum goal: 10 tags a day.
✔ One day a week spend posting PSL logs for Alison.


RL/EXERCISE:
✔ Walks with Mom 6 times a week.
✘ Try to do more social things/get out of the house.
✔ Job search related things 5 days a week. Like I have an actual job.
✘ Take reading time and finish Red-Rose Chain. I'm going to keep including this until I actually do it.

lose 3 lbs; actually went down 5.5! I'm just about to hit 20 down since we started in April and 30 down since my doctor's visit in January.

I was so stressed this month I just did not make time or find motivation to exercise enough and I am feeling the difference. :c
