June Review + XP Cash-In



Month three is complete!
90 days since this journey began for some of us :D  And look how many have joined us since!  

Remember, we're not here to beat ourselves up over our failures, but to celebrate our successes! With that in mind, please leave a comment on this post letting us know which June goals you accomplished, and also go back through the month and count up your longest consecutive run of substantial check-ins you had in a row (remember, "I did nothing"s don't count! a check-in should include at least one thing that you did that was positive that day). Round down to the nearest number of consecutive weeks you checked in, and then leave that number in bold at the bottom of your comment to earn your XP! - lose 5 lbs (current weight 233) -- ended month at 233.4 BUT I got as high as 237 so I at least put myself back together by month end
- go to gym at least twice a week -- check
- walk neighborhood at least one non gym day -- not even once
- complete 30 day plank challenge -- sort of. I lost motivation on the second half of the month

- write at least 1k words a day for my novel -- 20/30 days done

- make time for reading 3 days a week -- check

maintaining weight is a huge success imo esp since it shows that you can keep pushing through and trying! i saw that you were really discouraged but i think the success was in you being able to rally and prevail through it tbh ♥♥♥

    HOUSE!
    X Get Khojin and Khari caught up to Shay.
    Khari is close. Khojin still needs to hit Ishgard, but SOON.
    ? Get crafting to lvl 40.
    I am counting this as a little over 'halfway' since all crafting levels are currently between 36-39, which is still 60some crafting levels in a month. That was a hell of a grind.

holy shit i feel like you knocked june outta the park -- and i think being able to pace yourself around coming up here / hiatus is a great skill. i struggle with recognizing when to slow my pace up and i envy that you did it really smoothly!

RP/WRITING:
✔ Keep on top of [community profile] fandomweekly challenges, both writing and voting.
✔ Complete [community profile] getyourwordsout challenges as they happen, including the Mid-Year Marathon. - I only got a little less than halfway through the MYM but I completed all other challenges.
✔ Try to complete requests when able (standing at 6/37) - not a huge amount but more than none!
✔ Keep tags current, including getting tag nirvana when I can. - Except for those weeks when I was busy I did pretty well.
✘ One day a week spend posting PSL logs for Alison (bonus (imaginary) points if I can get through TW 5B before 6A starts at the end of June). - Though I did post some and 6A did not actually start in June.


RL/EXERCISE:
✘ Try to get in some kind of activity every day. (Whether elliptical or daily workouts)
✔ Try to do more social things/get out of the house. (1 a week?)

  • Stay on top of inbox. Daily tagging ideal // no more than 3 days. ~ Awesome in the first half of the month and have spiraled to an almost dead stop right now.
  • Exercise at least twice a week: Either daily routine or going for a walk. ~ Less great in the first half of the month. Awesome in the second half of the month.
  • Stay social, even when having a strugglebus day. ~ Yeah no this was a pretty big fail to be honest. For various reasons.
  • Continue the great Bleach read of 2016. Target: Chapter 100 (at least). ~ N O P E. I did read other things but I fell down on Bleach things.
  • Drink more water. This is something I am awful at so I want to make myself accountable by tracking intake. ~ Check
  • Don't fall down on KoK! Check In every day ~ Check!

    Second Half of the Month

  • 30 minutes of low impact Cardio every day. ~ Check!
  • Stick to eating plan (Combo of meal replacement shakes & healthy meals/no carbs.) ~ Check!
  • No skipping meals. ~ Rocked at this for the first time... almost in my life okay. I always skip meals.
  • Resist the urge to weigh myself daily. Keep it to once a week/fortnight. ~ ... Does it count if I succeeded at this mostly because the batteries in my scales died?
  • Try to up water intake to 1-2 litres a day. ~ I've sucked at this the last few days but overall, my water intake was awesome.
  • Reduce coffee intake to no more than 3 cups a day. ~ Managed to keep this to 2 cups most days but there were at least a couple that I went over three.

    Added Extras

  • Logged food every day (Second half of month)
  • Stayed under calories every day (2nd half)
  • Lost... I'm not 100% sure but etc. Nevermind, I got the scales to work. I have lost 14 pounds & I've dropped a whole dress size.
  • Started playing FF XIV. I haven't gamed in so long and I've missed it much.

    ok so the most exciting goal that i met tbh was to check in every day, which i did!!! it was tough but i think i only did 1-2 as like a tardy check-in the next morning. so that's 1000 xp to skye.

    Write at least one sentence per day — i did not do it necessarily every day, even though i hit 15,000 words for the month, so i'm going to double back and keep this one until i can get it right.
    Read at least one chapter per day — n o p e. i did very little reading this month and i'm so disappointed in it. keeping this goal.
    Write at least one tag per day — did it!!! (i'm excluding weekends because ... kyle.) which is great news i didn't allow myself to basically go "no i'm too tired." i had a couple days where i did not feel up to it and i was like no fuck this i can do JUST ONE.

    Workout at least twice a week — haha no
    Drink at least one liter of water per day — i drank a glass of water each day, not a liter.

    100 tags per week — all but one week, yes! which is pretty excellent, so i'll take it, even if the off-week was like 50 short.
    5 books in June — hahahahaha not at all carrying this goal over though because in hawaii i hope to be able to do this.
    2500 words per week — AND THEN SOME. i mean, not necessarily over each individual week, but i got 15,000 for the month which is 5,000 over this goal because i managed to do enough catch-up to do 500 words/day for weekends too

    I did lose, but probably more like 2? It's hard to tell because of all this water weight I've been carrying from other issues I'm having, but I am down a size in clothes and have been wearing things I haven't worn in a couple of years, so that's my silver lining.
    continue tracking food daily
    I tracked my food every single day, was honest with myself about everything and I hit my 90 day benchmark on MFP!
    continue exercising five days a week
    I would be happier if all those days were biking because I always feel so good about it, but even on days where I was busy or the bike wasn't an option, I made sure to get in some circuit training.
    get in at least one walk a week, even if it's short
    I did get some walks in, but not each week.

    I am readmitted and registered for fall semester!

    It's not much, but I managed to squeeze in a little so I could work around this month's financial clusterfuck with my car.

    I did well with this at the beginning of the month, but when I had company here it wasn't really doable, and I think there are some days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays in particular right now) where this is kind of an unreasonable goal for myself because I'm out of the house ALL DAY and exhausted. I'm not going to count this as a complete loss because even though I did fall behind in the middle of the month, I caught up reasonably well again, but I'm going to try and take inbox maintenance from another angle.

    finish Tales of Zestiria
    school etc used up all my brainpower and new FFXIV content took all my gaming time so whoops. :c Someday I will finish this. Rolling this one over to this month because I NEED TO it's so cute.

    REFLECTION:
    Successes on Cooper's downstay in a specific place, kept up on tags really well and made sure I tagged new, noncanon characters multiple times!

    Partial-successes are from spotty consistency / mental energy levels. I dropped one pound consistently, which is honestly exactly what I'm shooting for -- showing consistent and steady weight loss instead of my usual habit of dropping 15 pounds and then gaining 20 the next year. I definitely succeeded at reducing the amount I eat per meal but there were still days the caloric content wasn't preferable, so I'm not going to count it this time. I wore my Fitbit for maybe half the month, because I forget it when I charge it, and I did a decent job at logging food. Also, up to the race I totally reduced my mileage time, but afterward I stopped running altogether to give my knees a break and start from the bottom. I kept nongame tags current to a couple of weeks, which is totally progress on my previous monthly tagging habits!

    Needs works include having no energy left to study even though I really needed to prioritize that. I'm disappointed, but this just means I'll have a fire under my ass in July! I didn't try the knee-strengtheners on purpose, though-- they needed RICE treatment and now that they're feeling better I can focus on those, too!

    CONCLUSION
    I'm very happy with my results for June! I went kind of easy on myself because I'm new, but being able to at least throw some stuff against the wall to see what sticks was AWESOME. And now that I have a record over a month, I'll be able to make some more specific goals. I really appreciate being part of this community, and being encouraged to pay attention daily, weekly, and monthly ♥♥♥

    i think i legit did every day except one day. I'M CALLING IT GOOD ENOUGH. the difficulty now will be keeping that up now that my commute is changing.
    + only eat out twice a week max; and only from the work cafeteria once a week
    iiiii was less good at this BUT I MADE AN EFFORT OK. depression kicked my butt and when i'm depressed i comfort eat :(

    i've failed to check in during july because i dropped the ball, but i should probably at least do this

    x i've gained about 10 lbs in two months, but it think that's mostly med related, so hopefully the new stuff will make that go away

    + caught up on all shows except supernatural
