august 2016 goals post

It's that time again! A new month, a clean slate. Stretch yourself to add a new goal or two this month if you want, or just double down on some you might have fallen short on last month. 

Examples of possible goals can be found here.

Remember to both challenge yourself, and be realistic so that you're not just setting yourself up for failure! And remember, just checking in can net you XP, whether you wind up meeting all your goals or not. ♥

WEEKLY
⟶ exotic friend date with matt & todd
⟶ get out of the house with emily on days off
⟶ keep bedroom cleaned & keep on top of laundry

+ walk 1 mile every day
+ only eat out twice a week, and only get lunch at the caf once a week
+ apply to EVEN MORE JOBS
+ don't use my credit card FOR ANYTHING HO DON'T DO IT
+ get furniture?? a desk or a real bed either one just a place to be that isn't on my air mattress x_x

+ stay on top of my tags; clean out my inbox every weekend if nothing else
+ actually finish one of the five million apps i've started and abandoned

+ meet my goodreads challenge goal (3 books away atm)

GENERAL:
» Set up a to-do list every day and complete it so that I keep busy and don't waste my day.
» Keep up with my FR dailies every day, because you have goals there and you should try and complete them.
» Allow myself Puzzle Craft 2 time but don't blow (fake) money trying to overdo it and complete stuff in one day.


RP/WRITING:
» Keep on top of [community profile] fandomweekly challenges, both writing and voting, if it comes back, because the mod's been silent for a bit. :(
» Complete [community profile] getyourwordsout challenges as they happen.
» Complete brown belt and double black belt for GYWO Bingo.
» Try to complete requests when able (standing at 8/37)
» Set a tag goal every day and complete it. Minimum goal: 10 tags a day.
» One day a week spend posting PSL logs for Alison.


RL/EXERCISE:
» Walks with Mom 6 times a week.
» Try to do more social things/get out of the house.
» Job search related things 5 days a week. Like I have an actual job.
» Take reading time and finish Red-Rose Chain. I'm going to keep including this until I actually do it.

life/adulting:
→ budget time for school, start getting up earlier to get myself adjusted to a new schedule before it starts
→ monitor mood/adjustment to new med dosage
→ tires D:
→ force self to let Steve drive when I take him to/from work so he gets in the practice, even if it means taking meds to get through it. In the long run it will free up time for me, but it's hard to make myself be a passenger when I get carsick so easily.
→ arrange to be able to leave state from 9/02 - 9/05

mental health/hobbies:
→ 10 tag a day minimum/continue to stay on top of my inbox
→ PSL tags at least once a week, preferably 2x minimum.
→ Finish Shannara review & Wil's app!
→ Finish American Horror Story, start Leverage.
FFXIV: Balthier to 50, complete the current step of Amri's Animus Relic.
WoW: Ashe/Taizhen/Braydin to 100 before the launch of Legion on 8/30 (they are currently 80, 82 & 93 respectively). Good thing to keep me busy/from getting antsy while watching shows.

Offline stuff:
✔ Get sleep schedule back on track for more than a day at a time (in bed between 9 and 10 so I can wake up by 5 or so).
✔ Make more social plans with friends I don't see as often.
✔ Continue job search, because after November, I won't have one (political campaign work: so damn fun, so damn temporary).
✔ Start and/or finish shows I'm still slowly catching up on -- right now that's American Horror Story (no I don't freaking know why I'm watching this, either; tbh I'm judging myself) and I still have to start last season of The Originals. There might be a couple of others in my queue that I've forgotten about, too?
✔ Set aside way more time for reading.

Online stuff:
✔ Do at least 5 tags a day; clean out the inbox once a week at minimum.

  • begin assessing how i'm doing with rp, but nothing finalized for a couple of months
  • more work on fics. any of them. i have a few series to get moving on
  • we're moving into our new building at work this month and there's a fitness room. so i need to use that when i can and do mini-workouts until / after then
  • any kind of work on personal projects
  • work out a plan for starting my own lps. involving all sorts of adulting, money, and time things.
  • games (dragon age, final fantasy, sims) for mental health / destressing as often as possible

  • if i eat out, especially lunch with the coworkers, be mindful of what i order. eat more salads in general

    ~SURVIVE. DO NOT COLLAPSE INTO A SOBBING BALL OF STRESS. Or do, but not for too long.
    ~stay on top of my homework! get it all done on time and do a good, thorough job. no half-assing!
    ~start fixing my sleep schedule. 3 is hard bedtime limit, 1 or 2 is better. midnight would be even better but I'll make that next month's goal.
    ~on the same note, wake up at 10 every morning
    ~actually deal with all my health insurance shit
    ~make sure to get out of the house every day, especially once I'm out of work
    ~go through my clothes and get rid of any that don't fit/I don't wear
    ~cut myself slack on days when I don't feel like I'm making progress
