April Goals




april 2016 goals post

The first step to improving ourselves is admitting that none of us are exactly where we want to be. Whether you're using this to help you get back on the wagon, climbing on the wagon for the first time, or just trying to upgrade to a better wagon, only a few people join the Knights with superpowers that let them skip the hard work phase (and hey, a lot of our superheroes spend more time in the training room than anyone). To that end, use this post to set at least one goal for yourself for April.

Example goals could be: setting a weight lost goal, a calorie intake goal, vowing to exercise x amount of times a week, deciding to start learning Swahili/Spanish/Elvish, teaching yourself something, reading so many books, doing something positive for your mental health every day, etc!

As an added incentive, if you check in regularly, you can earn XP for your bank and your characters!

Check in for 1 week straight = 250xp
Check in for 2 weeks straight = 500xp
Check in for 3 weeks straight = 750xp
Check in for the entire month of April daily = 1000xp!

A check-in requires posting on every single check-in post that goes up with something you did to help you reach your goals or improve yourself that day. We will cash in your earned XP on the next monthly goals post, and you can then decide how to divvy up what you've earned among your characters, based on how much you want to imply they've been training off-screen!

I will work out 3/week.
I will run 1 mile/week.
I will read 3 books in April.

Setting low goals to ease myself into it without too much stress.

For right now for April because I just want to get myself moving again:

  • Finish Jessica Jones by elliptical-ing through an episode daily (10 episodes).
  • Up the incline and repeat with Daredevil S2 (13 episodes).
  • Finish month with either Jane the Virgin or double-episodes of Fuller House, depending on what I'm feeling at the moment.

    I will probably work on some variety in my exercising in May as well as adding in some books because I have a stack a mile high, but starting small, working my way up.

    I lied, adding in some writing goals:

  • Continue to enter [community profile] fandomweekly challenges regularly (except amnesty week, because I've submitted for all the challenges so far and am using it to give myself a break).
  • Clear out remaining outstanding requests (Love Bingo - 7, Plurk Kisses - 11)
  • Write the outstanding GYWO challenge that's sitting in my inbox, especially considering it's a novel idea you already had, self, you can do it.

    Start on the pile of books I keep buying and not reading (finish one!)
    Reorganise all the boxes of products I have that aren't being used.

    I will not skip eating lunch during the week because I am "busy."
